Why We Trust Royal Mail to Deliver Your Door Drop Campaign

When we created DoorDrops4U we wanted to make door drop marketing simpler.

Our aim was to build a service where businesses could choose the areas they want to target and to see the cost of their campaign, arrange the print and book the distribution all in one place.

But there was one part of the process where we didn't want to compromise: who actually puts your leaflet through the door.

That's why DoorDrops4U uses Royal Mail for our door drop distribution.

Because delivery matters just as much as the print.

At KNP we've been producing print for businesses for more than 30 years. We know how much work goes into creating a campaign.

There's the offer. The design. The message. The print. The timing. And of course the budget.

But none of that matters if the leaflet doesn't reach the household it was intended for.

For us, distribution couldn't simply be the cheapest part of the process. It needed to be a service we could confidently put alongside our own.

Royal Mail's Door to Door network can reach around 32 million addresses across the UK giving DoorDrops4U the ability to support anything from a highly targeted local campaign to a large scale national drop.

Your leaflet is delivered by the people who already know the area.

One of the biggest reasons we use Royal Mail is incredibly simple.

They're already delivering to Britain's homes.

Rather than creating a separate delivery network purely for leaflets, printed material can be distributed as part of Royal Mail's established postal delivery operation.

For us that's a big advantage.

The posties delivering into communities every day already have an established network covering towns, cities, villages and rural areas across the country.

When you've invested in thousands or hundreds of thousands of leaflets that's exactly the sort of infrastructure you want behind your campaign.

We can target locally or nationally.

Door drops aren't about covering as many homes as possible.

They're about covering the right homes.

That's why the combination of DoorDrops4U's online mapping technology and Royal Mail's distribution network works so well.

Our mapping system allows you to visually build your campaign and see the areas you want to reach. That could mean households surrounding an individual shop, restaurant, gym or estate agency  or multiple areas across the country for a larger brand.

Royal Mail's Door to Door service can distribute geographically using postcode sectors, allowing campaigns to be planned around the locations that matter.

So instead of saying:

"We want to distribute 20,000 leaflets somewhere around here…"

You can actually build a defined campaign around the areas you want to target.

No customer names or individual household address database is required either.

Leaflets still get noticed.

We're obviously big believers in print but there has to be evidence behind it.

Royal Mail currently cites an 83% engagement rate for door drops while research referenced on its Door to Door service says 74% are opened, read or retained.

That's important.

Digital marketing is fantastic and we're certainly not suggesting businesses should stop using it. But our phones, inboxes and social feeds have become incredibly crowded places and are not sustainable.

A well-designed piece of print is different.

It's physical. It arrives in the home. It can sit on the kitchen worktop. It can be passed to somebody else. It can be picked up again later.

And most importantly, it doesn't disappear because somebody has scrolled past it.

We believe some of the strongest campaigns don't look at print versus digital at all. They use the two together.

A door drop can introduce the offer and then drive someone online through a QR code, website, promotional code or social channel.

An established system gives us confidence.

When we launched the DoorDrops4U brand we could have used a patchwork of local distribution companies around the country.

But that would make it much harder for us to provide the consistency we want.

Using Royal Mail gives us access to an established national distribution infrastructure and a structured booking process.

There are also controls around competing material. Royal Mail's booking process specifically asks businesses to identify what they are advertising and includes restrictions concerning campaigns advertising the same kind of service within the same delivery period.

For businesses investing in a campaign, that's another reason we believe Royal Mail is the right fit for DoorDrops4U.

Sustainability matters to us too.

Anyone who knows KNP will know sustainability isn't something we've suddenly added to a marketing page.

We've invested heavily in reducing the environmental impact of our own operation, from 800 solar panel energy and fossil-free initiatives to responsible paper choices, vegetable-based inks and tree planting.

So the direction being taken by our distribution partner matters too.

Royal Mail is working towards Net Zero by 2040 and now operates almost 9,000 electric vans which it says is the UK's largest electric delivery van fleet.

Just over half of its delivery routes are also wholly or partially completed on foot, with Royal Mail reporting that 31% of its delivery routes are now zero-emission.

For us that's an important part of the bigger picture.

We're continually looking at how print can be produced and delivered more responsibly without losing the qualities that make physical marketing so effective.

Print and distribution brought together.

This is ultimately what DoorDrops4U and KNP is all about.

We've taken more than 30 years of KNP's print experience, combined it with modern mapping technology and connected it to Royal Mail's national Door-to-door distribution network.

The result is a much simpler way to plan a leaflet campaign.

You choose where you want to go. You choose your leaflet. You choose your quantity. We print it. Royal Mail delivers it.

And if you're not quite sure where to start, there are still real people behind DoorDrops4U and not a chatbot who are happy to help.

Because although we've automated much of the process, we haven't automated the customer service.
